  8. When we solve an equation involving roots of even degree, we must remember 
  9. not to introduce extra roots.
  10. Pay special attention to Step 2, in which both sides of the equation are 
  11. squared. The domain condition results from the fact that negative numbers do 
  12. not have roots of even degree, and the second condition from the fact that 
  13. roots of even degree can never be negative.
